I want to tell you something
Hello Beautiful People!
I emailed my agent a few weeks ago that I want to get started on a new book, I’ve written the intro and proposal and when can we pitch this, and to whom, blah blah blah. You see, after you finish a book you kind of go into this weird period of time where you’ve worked really hard for months and months, and then nothing happens and you forget all about it. Well, while it seems like nothing is happening the book is off getting designed, printed, flown, and trucked around the world, distributed to stores and warehouses, etc. But I just feel like it’s out of my hands now and I’ve got TO DO SOMETHING! So I get ideas and I start new projects and bug my agent.
She, on the other hand, has patience, is wise, and experienced. She shut me down on the new book and didn’t even want to talk about it. Until you get this one up and selling, do not talk to me about a new book, she basically said. (M.A., I know you are reading this so forgive me if I’m paraphrasing here!) She proceeded to give me a kick-ass pep talk and this is what happened:
Do you see what it says there? #1 New Release in Ayurveda Medicine.
NUMBER ONE. Writers, hell, everybody loves to see the number 1 next to their name. Oh yeah!
So I’m secretly working on the new book, but much more consciously bringing This book out into the world. My friends have so generously been promoting the book on FB and Instagram and I can’t thank you enough! You can pre-order The Beginner’s Guide to Ayurvedic Home Remedies anywhere books are sold. Literally anywhere! As a former independent bookstore owner, my number one choice is always going to be YOUR local bookstore. But we have choices:
My first local event (in Baltimore) will be at The Ivy Bookshop on Saturday, July 22, at 10 am on the patio. Please come! And I have an online gig with my favorite Indian food folks, Pure Indian Foods (food is medicine) on August 1 at 1 pm ET. As I book more events I’ll let you know. And if you have a venue, class, bookstore or a living room (!) I would be happy to talk to you about creating an event! Email me at susan@breatheayurveda.com.
Oh - and WHY should you order Ayurvedic Home Remedies? It’s full of the most useful advice on taking care of yourself! I just did a little Instagram Live on how to protect yourself from environmental toxins, like the smoke from the Canadian wildfires that wafted its way down the coast. This advice is useful for seasonal allergies and other pollutants as well.
Even if you know nothing about Ayurveda you can use this book to help you feel better, sleep deeper, and feel vibrant and energized. Learn how to care for your skin at every age, and how to navigate life changes like menopause and andropause (male menopause - it’s a thing). SO MUCH! In the coming weeks, I’ll be posting more details about the book, but you can order now and it will be at your house the first week of July!
Along with the release of the book I’m offering discounts on Ayurvedic consultations this summer. Check out the details here. I don’t work one-on-one with folks as often as I used to because of the demands (and glories!) of writing books and teaching writing, so please take advantage of this offer as my hours will be very limited this fall and winter.
(Why will hours be limited? Teaching writing.
And going to Iceland. ——> Iceland Retreat. (only 4 spaces left in week 2. Week one is full)
I hope you are feeling good and have a summer full of adventures, or just chilling at home. Have fun and be in touch.
Lots of love (I mean it),
Susan
