Hiya everyone!
(three little things you can do at the bottom of this newsletter: Hit the heart; share; post a comment. Whichever you choose, it lets me know you like this!)
How were your holidays? Did you give gifts? Get a few? Hang out with your family? Or maybe some solo time? New Year’s used to be the biggest deal for me. I remember trying so hard to stay awake when I was little and the week or so after, writing the wrong year on school papers, and later, on checks (remember those?)
TONIGHT!! Wednesday, January 3 at 6 pm: I'm offering a free (or pay what you want) GATELESS WRITING SALON! Email me at susan@susanweisbohlen.com to register and I'll send you the Zoom link. This method of writing eases you into the craft through a short meditation and a prompt. We write for 15 minutes, then, (optional) share with the group. You will be showered with precise and concise positive feedback about your work encouraging you to keep going! We laugh, we cry, we hug virtually.
I’m getting ready to post the details of our next Write and Roam journey, which will be to Bhutan in September 2024. If you are a paid subscriber, you will find out all the details first. I will only be taking 10 people on this fabulous writing and roaming trip, to the truly mystical, magical, actual Kingdom in the Himalayas.
If you want to experience the power of writing with a group in a beautiful setting, but closer to home, I’m also getting ready to announce a retreat in West Virginia, in April. I’m working out the details and will have it all set very soon. Like next week!
And some book love. Whoo Hoo! Nice review from The Library Journal. I would love to sign a book for you and get it in the mail today so you can have a manual for wellness for 2024 and forever! susan@susanweisbohlen.com
The Beginner’s Guide to Ayurvedic Home Remedies: Ancient Healing for Modern Life. Fair Winds, by Susan Weis-Bohlen
”Ayurvedic practice is based on elements of space, air, fire, water, and earth and three doshas (fundamental regulatory principles of the body): Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant Weis-Bohlen (Seasonal Self-Care Rituals) found healing through connecting with Ayurvedic foods, lifestyle, and apothecary additions. Here she writes for beginning practitioners seeking life balance, harmony, and solutions to common ailments, including sleep disturbances, acid reflux, weight gain or loss, headaches, and back pain. Occasional recipes (licorice tea; allergy-reduction smoothies; face wash) and sidebars (marma pressure points; therapy; hydrating foods) add interest, and notes on yoga poses and online sources for supplies are useful. VERDICT Of interest to readers looking for natural or alternative-medicine ways to improve overall health. https://susanweisbohlen.com/books”
Do you have something spectacular you want to share? Please tell me in the comments! This newsletter is a two-way road. I share mine. You share yours.
No resolutions, just deep, sincere wishes for peace the world over.
Lots of love to you all,
Susan
P.S. If you want to join the Zoom writing salon tonight, Wednesday, January 3, email me at susan@susanweisbohlen.com and I’ll send you the link.
