In-Person Baltimore area Group Meditation info
Hello All!
Ooops, in my newsletter yesterday,
I had the wrong date for our meditation gathering. It will ALWAYS be the first Monday of the month (well, actually, if it’s a holiday or I’m out of town, it won’t be, but I’ll let you know!), which means Monday, June 1, from 6 pm - 7 pm. at the Brooklandville Train Station, 10512 Falls Road, 21093 (across from the Valley Inn). Please arrive no earlier than 5:45. You can park on the grass in front of the building. If you need directions, text me at 410-979-2096.
So please join me for a short talk and a half-hour of meditation at the beautifully restored historic Brooklandville Train Station in Greenspring Valley. Instruction will be offered as needed, and we will sit together in silence as a community, focusing on our breath, working with our thoughts, and relaxing our minds and bodies.
I have a long tradition of meditating, beginning over forty years ago, when I sat in an apartment in Tel Aviv with Israeli hippies who had recently returned from India and Thailand in the 1980s. Along with yoga, they brought Hindu and Buddhist meditation and wove them together with Hebrew chanting and Kabbalistic practices. It was quite an introduction to meditation for me in my mid-twenties. But it led me to many silent meditation retreats over the years, to seeking out teachers in England and India, and finding my own way of practicing with curiosity and equanimity.
Meditation has been a steady, powerful force in my life, and I hope to share that with you.
Our meditation group is open to everyone, regardless of experience or ability to pay.
Cost: A suggested $15 donation will be shared with your teacher and the Brooklandville Station. Payment can be made via Venmo to @susan-weis-bohlen, (last four of cell are 2096), or Zelle to 4109792096. Cash or check will be accepted on site.
There are some chairs available, but feel free to bring your own chair, cushion, zafu, or backjack.
Please RSVP by replying to susan@susanweisbohlen.com
Thank you!
Susan
